Name: Christoper Walker
Your “Real” Job: Local RSON Coordinator
Your roll in the ORR: I am the Coordinator for the Omineca Regional Response working group. I organize, prepare and chair the bi-weekly meetings with the working group, help facilitate communications and information between the members, and work with our communications team for messaging going out to the community.
How are you personally coping with the limits COVID-19 is imposing on us all?
I have spent the majority of my personal time working on fulfilling my role as president and search manager of NVSAR, helping get proper protocols in please for COVID-19. To Cope with the limitations, catching up on reading has been great and going for walks while maintaining social distancing. There are some great apps you can download Headspace for meditation to help with stress.
What is your favorite activity during this time?
Spending time in the evenings online with friends on a game.
What do you look forward to once this is all over?
Being able to enjoy a dinner at a restaurant with family
If you could make one encouraging support statement to fellow residents what would it be?
We are getting through this together, and continue following the guidelines from the government. Social distancing is working and focus on what you can do in our communities, not what we cannot do.
